Frequently Asked Questions
... or what could be asked
» How the heck are you gonna be able to see my pictures?
Flickr encourages developers to
build cool tools for you to play with, but you must authorize these
third parties (us) to access your account. By doing so, this
website can show you your images. We never see your password, for authentication
is handled by Flickr. We also do not store or copy your photos,
we only temporarily save the URLs in our database. You may tell us when
to delete those by revoking the invitation (or setting the expiry time).
» Isn't it easier just to have my friends sign up with Flickr?
Of course.
» Why does this website look so much like Flickr?
We suck at designing websites, so it was easier just to copy Flickr's layout ;-)
» Why should I use this?
Ok, an example. You just got married and took a whole bunch of awesome
images. Your friend in Austria is a big geek and refuses to sign up
for a Flickr account, but you still like
him (and not your evil neighbour) to see the pictures of the best day
in your life. Ta-da! Here you go!(of course the friend can be from
Switzerland, or Sweden too).
» Why should I not use this?
For some reason, you've decided not to share photos with the rest of the
world. Most likely because you don't like just anyone to view them, except
for a select group of people. Now if you use this service, a unique link
will be generated and send (by email) to the recipient.
(S)he can do anything with that URL you can imagine:
share it with your evil neighbour, sell it on eBay etc.
» I found a bug!
Please post it in the Flickr
Invitr Group.
» I have a great idea for Invitr!
Please post it in the Flickr
Invitr Group.
» This website is done in Perl, why?
» But Perl sucks! PHP rules, right?
» What is "SWAL"?
You shouldn't ask, but it started out as a bunch of geeks messing
with Perl calling themselves "Scripters Without A Life". Many years later
they got somewhat of a life and finally coded this website.
